About the La Jolla Newcomers

For more than 50 years, the La Jolla Newcomers Club has been helping new residents from all over the country and the world get acquainted with their new community and their neighbors. The Club is open to anyone who has moved to 92037, the La Jolla zip code, within the past three years. As well, if a person has resided within the La Jolla zip code for more than three years and has experienced a major life change, membership applications will be considered by the Board.

The Club began as a social offshoot of La Jolla Welcome Wagon before growing into a independent, non-profit organization. We have about 400 members, many who actively volunteer their leadership and knowledge to sponsor numerous interest groups which are the backbone of the Club. Each month, the La Jolla Newcomers Club hosts an array of activities, ranging from games and outings to wine tasting, gourmet dining, local hiking, and discussion of books, art and movies. Some gatherings are designed specifically for our newest members to help you get acquainted with other new people as well.

Our Board meetings take place September through June on the first Wednesday of the month. They are open to all members with a simple RSVP to the LJNC President.

As a member-run organization, La Jolla Newcomers Club is constantly evolving to meet the needs of all. Join us, enjoy the social activities and interest groups we offer, make new friends, and add your own special contribution to the mix!
